The Poll Everywhere add-in for PowerPoint is a tool that allows you to integrate interactive polls directly into your PowerPoint presentations. To use the Poll Everywhere add-in, you need to install it on your computer. For a UNMC-owned/managed Windows PC, you can find the add-in in the Software Center and install it from there. Mac users can download the add-in from the Poll Everywhere website and install it by following the instructions.

Once installed, you can create poll activities on the Poll Everywhere website or app and then insert these activities into your PowerPoint slides using the add-in. This allows you to engage your audience and gather feedback during your presentations.

- Practice Makes Perfect. Set up early and test!
- I always reboot my computer to clear out its cache memory and ensure I have no unintentional freezes or lock-ups.
- Always check your bandwidth speed, especially if you are presenting remotely or at a conference location. My preference is https://www.speedtest.net/. 20+ Mbps speed results should put you in a good position for an engaging and successful experience.
- Log into your Poll Everywhere account first at https://poll.unmc.edu, then start your PowerPoint.
- Practice running your slide deck to ensure all works as you expect

Adjusting your activity settings:

The Activity settings give you control over several handy features. Through this portal, you can do things like create a template, determine how long you want activities to stay active, and even change the language of activity instructions.

✋ Pro Tip: Branding the response page is a great way to customize your activities to match UNMC branding colors. This helps enhance students’ participation experience and makes your presentation more personalized in the classroom.

Set your defaults so every newly created activity is set up as you prefer

Log into your Poll Everywhere account
Navigate to your profile by clicking on the person icon in the lower left.
In the second navigation panel, click on Activity Settings
Adjust the settings as you prefer

I highly recommend enabling:

- Allow participants to respond via the web
- Allow participants to respond via text messaging
